Manchester Fringe Book Festival will be a full day book festival  celebrating authors you may not see at mainstream book festivals. The Festival will be a packed day where you can hear the authors, commentators and specialists in their field, meet them, buy their books from our bookstall and get your books signed.

5pm Panel: Breaking Publishing’s Wall of Silence. How various tools like groupthink, cancel culture and shunning were used in the publishing industry and what are the implications for free speech going forward?

Panel Members Jenny Lindsay (Author), Nimco Ali OBE (Author, Activist and co-founder of The Five Foundation), Marnie Riches (Author, CEO and Founder of Culture Together) and Julia Williams (Co-Chair of SEEN in Publishing). 

 

Registration is from 9.30am.

 

Early Bird tickets £34 available from 30th July.

Full price tickets £37 and concession tickets £20 from 30th August. 

 

Fringe Book Festival details:

 

  • There is no prebooking, each event is on a first come first served basis

  • The venue is 10 mins walk from Piccadilly station

  • There are limited food and refreshments for you to purchase at the venue, but plenty nearby and we will provide details nearer the time

  • There will be no refunds, but you are able to transfer a ticket to another person. You MUST let the organisers know by emailing wrn_manchester@womensrights.network. If you do not, we cannot guarantee that the person you have transferred your ticket to will be allowed access. It is your responsibility to ensure all emails about the event are forwarded to the person you have transferred your ticket to
