SINGLE SEX TOILETS IN SCHOOL

Are your daughter’s safety, dignity, health and privacy important at school?

Single sex toilets are being removed in schools despite legal protections provided by The Equality Act - this is unlawful.

Ask your daughter
what’s happening in her school and how she and her friends feel about their safety, dignity and health in school toilets. If you, and they, are not happy with any changes, here are resources to help you to ask the right questions and feel confident with the law on your side.

  • Use our images to illustrate your own social media posts or send them in your school WhatsApp groups, with the link to this page.

  • Read the Law - which states clearly that all pupils aged over 8 must have access to single sex toilets

  • In The Media - read what’s been said in local and national press

  • Other Campaigns - read other campaigns about the changes being made to the detriment of girls in your school to both the curriculum and single sex provision under the banner of ‘inclusion’.

  • Write a letter to your school

  • Send an FOI request to your school or academy chain

  • Become a school governor to help influence policy
